TEENAGE OBESITY (Click Here)

Teenage obesity is an increasing concern; an alarming concern. As of the year 2000, 9 million American children were overweight, and the same numbers again are at risk of becoming overweight.

The causes of teenage obesity are many.
For one thing, the American lifestyle has become more and more sedentary in recent years. People spend more time watching television.

Nearly everyone spends at least some time sitting in front of a computer, and some teens spend quite a bit of time doing it. Video games for the TV and games for the computer are wildly popular. Much of their "play" and leisure time is spent sitting in front of a screen instead of outside bicycling, playing sports, skating, or any of the multitudes of possibilities.

frankly speaking number of obese people in the UK is something that absolutely terrifies me. I know statistics that say that 6/10 women in Scotland is either overweight or obese. It could be down to a great popularity of chippie shops where for just few pounds you can get a meal. The problem is it mainly consists of grease. the other reason might be economic environment of this country. fresh veg and fruit are more expensive than a pack of crisp so to save some money you opt for buying them. One way or another i think unhealthy eating habits (fish and chips....) are part of British culture. To learn aobut other wierd thingg visit my blog http://weirdbritons.blogspot.com/

there are many reasons for teenage obesity. The safety of our kids leads parents to drive their kids to school - take some more time and walk or cycle with them!!!! Allowing kids to spend their leisure time on computers or watching tv - limit this time!!!!
- spend some time with your kids doing something healthy - go for a walk, walk the dog with them etc!
Educate your kids to be responsible so that you can be sure they are responsible when they are out with their mates ...and know about personal safety (just in case!)
Keep your kids young so that they still want to play! Play is usually physical activity!
